Extreme adventurer

 

“The limits are just in our mind”.

Danilo was born on February 21, 1983, in a small town in the Italian province of Friuli Venezia Giulia, halfway between the mountains and the sea.
Danilo’s passion for extreme sports and mountaineering began at a young age.
He has always been fascinated by nature in all its forms and expressions, especially harsh environments where a human being cannot easily survive, but once he gets used to it, he becomes part of it and enters another dimension.
In addition to mountaineering, he also practices parachuting, a discipline he learned and improved during his 4-year-deployment with the Italian Special Forces.
In Iraq he witnessed firsthand for over five months the harsh reality of warfighting.
This harrowing experience left a permanent scar on him and served as the most important lesson of his life.
He approaches all of his expeditions with a mature, rational and highly trained mindset, yet he is constantly aware that anything may happen and that life is always at risk.

He has solo explored the most remote places on the planet, swum across oceans, climbed dangerous mountains ranging from the Alps to the Himalayas, from the Andes to the Caucasus and flown over mountains and oceans. He has also crossed continents and four deserts by bicycle, traversed the largest glacier in Europe, kayaked the highest lake on the planet and navigated rough waters in Patagonia. His mission is to combine air, land, and sea elements in a single expedition.

 

In 2013, he received the “Gold Beard” award as the Adventurer of the Year.
